High School Student
High school students interested in enrolling in Army ROTC must apply and be accepted into FIU.
College Student
Currently enrolled, full-time FIU students interested in enrolling in Army ROTC can begin participating in the Basic Course by registering for MSL 1001 and the corresponding lab MSL 1001L when signing up for classes.
Students with two or more years remaining toward their undergraduate degree but not enough time to complete the Basic Course can register for the Advanced Course after completing Basic Camp at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Graduate Student
Graduate students interested in enrolling in Army ROTC can only register for the Advanced Course. To be able to register for the Advance Course, they must complete Basic Camp at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Active Duty
Enlisted soldiers interested in enrolling in FIU Army ROTC should email John McCammon, enrollment officer, at armyrotc@fiu.edu to start their application.
Soldiers currently in the National Guard or U.S. Army Reserve interested in enrolling in Army ROTC can participate through the Simultaneous Membership Program.
Enrollment Requirements
Students interested in enrolling in Army ROTC must meet the following requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be at least 17 or under 31 when commissioning
- A high school diploma or equivalent or regionally accredited college degree if applying as a graduate student
- High school GPA of at least 2.50; college GPA of at least 2.70
- Have taken the SAT or ACT
- Pass the Army Combat Fitness Test and DoDMERB Physical.
- Meet the physical height and weight requirements.
Army ROTC Scholarships
Whether you're graduating high school or already enrolled at FIU, Army ROTC offers cadets several scholarships and stipends to pay for tuition, housing, books and other living expenses.
